A very Happy Birthday!
I've been doing this job for a while, and most of the time, like any other job, it's a good one. Thursday 15th March was a particularly good day though as I was performing at Central Station, King's Cross, which is one of my favourite venues, and the location for the 60th birthday of Duncan Irvine, one of the venue owners.
I've performed at the venue's own birthday bash 3 or 4 times, plus NYE twice, but to be asked to a special night like this is an added bonus. There was a good turnout for the evening and I had a ball.
I was careful not to embarass Duncan too much, given the fact that Elton John had had a massive party for his 60th that same week. Mind you, our evening had an added bonus in the delightful form of stripper, College Boy, who dragged Duncan to the stage for part of his routine. Duncan, at least, pretended to resist!!
I'm back at the venue on Saturday 31st March, and hope to be there for many years to come, if all nights are as good as Thursday!
